About this program

The Doctor of Medicine at the University of Western Australia aims to produce graduates committed to the wellbeing of the patient, community and society as responsible, accountable, scholarly, capable and caring doctors. The course prepares graduates with the clinical and professional attributes required for successful internships and future training. In the first year students gain background knowledge in biomedical sciences, and in years two and three they undertake clinical attachments in wards and clinics. Graduates enter internship and prevocational training on the pathway to registration as a medical practitioner.
