About this program
The Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the University of Western Australia is a three-year program for entry into professional practice as a podiatrist. It aims to produce graduates able to treat and educate their patients effectively and appropriately in a professional and responsible way, using teaching methods including lectures, tutorials, practical training and directed self-learning. Case-based and problem-based learning emphasise patient-focused practice, and clinical practice begins in second year and continues into third year. Graduates register and practise as podiatrists, diagnosing and treating conditions of the foot and ankle.
