About this program
The Master of Hearing Sciences gives students comprehensive theoretical knowledge in hearing science, covering the anatomy and physiology of hearing and deafness, audiological instrumentation, assessment, rehabilitation and advanced communication devices. The course has a strong research component that can be tailored to a student's own background and interests, alongside practical training in psychoacoustics, clinical diagnosis and community audiology. Importantly, this qualification does not lead to accreditation as an audiologist in Australia, so it suits students wanting research and technical depth in hearing science rather than a clinical audiology practice pathway.
