About this program
The Doctor of Medicine at the University of Wollongong aims to produce knowledgeable, caring and competent graduates who are well prepared to commence vocational training in any area of medicine. The MD is a four-year full-time degree, with each academic year approximately 42 weeks long, using a combination of face-to-face teaching, clinical placements, blended and online learning, and self-directed learning. Teaching takes place at the Wollongong, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands campuses and one of eight rural hubs, giving the program a strong community and rural health emphasis. Graduates enter internship and prevocational training toward registration as a medical practitioner.
