About this program
The Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Trauma and Recovery Practice at the University of Wollongong responds to issues of particular relevance in Australian Indigenous communities. It is a multidisciplinary program in which students apply critical thinking, collaborative practice and judgement when working with individuals who have experienced trauma. The course focuses on applying Indigenous social and emotional wellbeing principles, practices and healing frameworks, using both Aboriginal and Western concepts of trauma and considering the historical and cumulative impact of trauma. Graduates work in health, community, social and emotional wellbeing, and healing roles.
