About this program
The Master of Education Extension at the University of Wollongong is a higher degree for professional educators and for those interested in a career in teaching English to speakers of other languages or in educational leadership. The two-year program extends the learning outcomes of the Master of Education and offers candidates the opportunity to specialise in either TESOL or educational leadership, introducing contemporary trends and issues in research, theory and practice, with flexible online or classroom study. Admissions
Educational Leadership A recognised bachelor's degree with an equivalent mark of 50% in either education or teaching, plus one of the following: A postgraduate qualification in any discipline, OR One year of full-time professional experience in the education field, as deemed appropriate to the program of study by the School. OR A recognised bachelor's degree in any discipline, plus one of the following: A postgraduate qualification in education or teaching, OR Two years of full-time professional experience in the education field, as deemed appropriate to the program of study by the School. TESOL A recognised bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum equivalent average mark of 50%. Students who wish to enrol in the subject EDGT938 Professional Experience in TESOL must demonstrate proficient professional and communication skills. This subject requires students to complete 20 hours of supervised professional experience in an ESL classroom.
