About this program
UNSW's Bachelor of Laws cannot be studied as a standalone degree; it's only offered in combination with another approved undergraduate degree as a double degree, satisfying the academic requirements for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW. The law-specific component comprises 144 units of credit covering compulsory core courses, a prescribed theory elective and law electives, while breadth comes from whichever second degree a student pairs it with, and double degree LLB students don't need to complete general education courses separately. Students cannot transfer from a double degree LLB enrolment into a single LLB enrolment, though transferring out of the double degree into just the non-law program may be possible depending on that program's own rules. It suits school leavers who've decided on a legal career and want to pair law study with another discipline, such as arts, commerce or science, from the start of their degree.

On both MLTSSL and CSOL, but a positive skills assessment is not the same as being able to practise. You must first be admitted to an Australian state legal profession, which for an overseas or JD graduate means passing the assessed academic subjects, completing Practical Legal Training, and being admitted by the state Supreme Court, before the occupation is realistically usable for a visa.
