About this program
The UNSW Juris Doctor is a three-year graduate law degree, 144 units of credit made up of 16 compulsory core law courses plus electives. Entry is on academic merit, generally an overall average around 70 percent, and applicants must hold a bachelor degree in a discipline other than law, or a law degree from another legal system. The degree is accredited by the Legal Profession Admission Board and satisfies the academic component for admission to practise as a solicitor and barrister of the Supreme Court of New South Wales; practical legal training is completed separately. Graduates work in private practice, government, community legal centres, corporate legal teams, and policy and international organisations. Indicative international tuition is around A$54,200 per year.
