About this program
The Master of Surgery (Research) at UNSW Sydney requires an original contribution to knowledge in a field related to surgery. Candidates generally must have at least three years of surgical training, and there should normally be a lapse of five years from the award of the undergraduate medical degree before the thesis is submitted. Candidates undertake an original investigation on an approved topic under the direction of a supervisor, may study full time, part time or externally, and enrol for between 96 and 144 units of credit, with progress reviewed annually. The degree is offered through the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the UNSW Kensington campus in Sydney and its clinical schools.
