Master of Taxation
UNSW Sydney, Sydney, NSW, Australia
About this program
UNSW's Master of Taxation is a specialist program for taxation professionals dealing with complex tax issues in business decisions and transactions, taught by leading tax academics with exposure to complex aspects of the discipline and critical understanding of the Australian taxation system. Three compulsory core courses and a compulsory capstone in tax policy form the backbone of the degree, with four elective courses letting students tailor the program toward personal tax and financial planning, indirect taxes, corporate and commercial tax, or international tax depending on career interests. Assessment emphasises sustained analytical writing on current problem areas, encouraging genuine contributions to professional debate on key tax issues rather than only reproducing existing knowledge. All courses are offered in online distance learning or hybrid mode, and the program can be studied full-time or part-time, suiting working tax professionals who need flexible delivery around existing employment.
