About this program
The Bachelor of Criminal Justice at Victoria University equips students with the knowledge, skills and hands-on experience to make an impact on community safety and social justice. Students examine how crime, law and inequality intersect, including the role of mental health, trauma, substance use, poverty and systemic disadvantage, and study criminal justice theories, human rights and ethical frameworks, exploring how policing, courts and prisons operate and how policy, practice and reform can shape fairer outcomes. In the final year, students complete an industry placement preparing them for careers in law enforcement, corrections, courts and legal services, youth justice, and community support. It is offered at VU in Melbourne.

Admissions
Meeting the minimum entry criteria does not guarantee entry into this course. Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 20 in any other English (or equivalent). OR:. Completion of an Australian Advanced Diploma or Diploma (or equivalent). PLUS:. IELTS (or equivalent): Overall score or 6.0 (with no band less than 6.0 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking). OR:. Completion of a Foundation course or equivalent.
