About this program
Engineer the Future From sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy to robotics, advanced manufacturing and smart cities, engineers solve the challenges that shape our world. Western's Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) prepares you to design, build and improve the systems, technologies and infrastructure that support modern society. You'll develop strong technical knowledge alongside practical problem-solving skills and industry experience. The degree allows you to explore different engineering disciplines before choosing a specialisation, giving you the flexibility to discover where your interests and strengths lie. Areas of study include Advanced Manufacturing, Civil, Construction, Electrical, Materials Engineering, Mechanical, Robotics & Mechatronics and Sustainability. You'll apply your knowledge through hands-on projects, industry engagement and professional experience. Before graduation, you'll complete 450 hours of industry-related employment, helping you build practical skills, industry connections and career confidence. Accredited by Engineers Australia, this degree prepares graduates for professional engineering careers recognised both nationally and internationally. Note: At the Sydney City campus, this program is available for full-time study only, and only in the specialisations Civil, Electrical and Mechanical. Sydney City Campus semesters commence in March, July and October. Not all subjects are available on all campuses. Please refer to our handbook for more information.

Admissions
Recommended studies: Physics and HSC Mathematics Extension 1 or HSC Mathematics Extension 2. Assumed knowledge required: Two subjects of Science, two subjects of English and Mathematics (not General Mathematics) at Band 5 or higher.
