About this program

A four-semester master's (about 16 months) made up of two specialist building-surveying subjects, six shared built-environment core subjects and four postgraduate electives. The material runs from building structure, materials and the regulatory framework through sustainability principles to engineering concepts and planning assessment.

It is professionally accredited by the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, which is what allows graduates to work toward accreditation as a building surveyor and certifier in any Australian state and be recognised internationally. Teaching is in small discussion-based classes led by practising surveyors, in Bond's award-winning sustainable Built Environment Precinct. It suits people already in construction, building control or a related technical role who want the qualification needed to certify buildings and move into senior surveying work.
