About this program

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at Deakin University prepares students to become confident, capable educators of young children. Deakin is the only university to embed the Berry Street Education Model into its initial teaching degrees, so students graduate with practical skills to apply trauma-informed strategies that support every learner. Students also learn how to create safe, healthy and engaging learning environments while building positive classroom relationships, supported by placements. Graduates work as early childhood teachers in kindergartens, preschools and the early years of primary school.
