About this program

La Trobe's Master of Psychological Science, now titled Master of Psychological Science (Research), is a two-year full-time degree by research rather than a coursework program. Students complete an independent research project supervised within the School of Psychology and Public Health, in areas that include autism spectrum disorders, clinical and health psychology, behavioural neuroscience and neuropsychology, cognitive and developmental psychology, and social and intercultural psychology. It is a masters degree by research at AQF level 9 and can serve as a pathway toward a PhD. Entry is a Bachelor of Psychological Science with honours completed within the last ten years, with a weighted average mark of 70 or above, and the school must be able to supervise the chosen research area. IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0. Indicative international tuition is around A$46,200 per full-time year. Note that this is a research training program, not a professional or registration qualification.
