About this program
Planning is a critical profession in a time of profound societal change, with qualified planners needed to address housing, transportation, population growth and the impacts of climate change on communities and places. This three-year degree, offered both on-campus and online, has an interdisciplinary focus integrating social and environmental domains in the planning and design of sustainable cities and regions. Macquarie is working with the Planning Institute of Australia toward accreditation for the course. Students develop depth in social and environmental sustainability, health and wellbeing, housing and governance, and technology, AI and Geographic Information Systems, graduating with knowledge of planning theory, policy and governance alongside practical skills in plan-making, urban design, impact assessment and research.
