About this program
The Master of Organisational Psychology course includes units that integrate theory with psychological practice, together with 1,000 hours of supervised placement. Students completing this course typically work as organisational psychologists in consultancy firms, large companies, or government departments in areas such as employee assistance, personnel selection, human resource management, training, organisational development, workplace and career counselling, user experience testing, and/or occupational health and safety. The course aims are to develop graduates who can: Satisfy professional standards in psychology; Communicate effectively, personally and digitally, with a wide range of clients and professionals; Integrate psychological theories and evidence with practical problem-solving in the context of organisational psychology; Implement and interpret psychological assessments of individuals and groups; Diagnose impediments to psychological health and well-being in the workplace; Select, design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions in the context of organisational psychology; Collaborate with, or refer to, other professionals when work is outside their professional capabilities; Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and a capacity to develop and implement interventions that account for diversity; Develop an ongoing professional capability through self-reflective, ethical practice; and Develop an ongoing professional capability by undertaking applied research. Therefore, the degree has been specifically designed to develop the following four graduate capabilities: Capability 1. Scientist and Scholar : Graduates will be research-informed applied psychologists, equipped with advanced knowledge and skills in best-practice principles and evidence-based techniques relevant to the practice of organisational psychology. Admissions
Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited AQF Level 7 (Years 1-3) and Level 8 (Honours or 4th year equivalent) qualification(s) in psychology, and/or international qualification(s) that are assessed as equivalent by the Australian Psychological Society, completed within the last ten years: Minimum WAM of 75 for Years 1-3 of APAC accredited AQF Level 7 qualification or equivalent in psychology, including international qualification(s) Minimum WAM of 75 in Year 4 (Honours or 4th year equivalent) of APAC accredited AQF Level 8 psychology qualification or equivalent, including international qualification(s) In addition Eligibility for provisional or full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia Two satisfactory referee reports supplied through the Psychology Reference Portal Satisfactory interview performance Satisfactory performance on the CASPER Situational Judgement Test completed within the 12 months prior to commencement date of the course. Shortlisting for interview selection is based on all information provided in complete applications by the closing date. Incomplete applications will not be considered for invitations for interviews and meeting the minimum stated requirements does not guarantee an invitation to attend the interviews and/or admission to the course.
