About this program
The Bachelor of Architectural Design is a three-year degree taught on campus at Caulfield with a February start, and is the first step toward becoming a registered architect. Teaching uses a studio model where students work on real projects each semester, choosing a studio that aligns with their interests. The course explores the social, political, environmental and economic dimensions of architectural practice alongside design skills, communication and building technology, with a focus on contemporary challenges such as climate change and housing access. To register as an architect, graduates go on to complete the two-year Master of Architecture and two years of supervised professional practice. Graduates work in architectural practices, and in urban design, interiors, project management and the wider built environment sector.
