Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychology

Monash's Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychology is the fourth-year equivalent of an honours degree in psychology, giving graduates the advanced disciplinary knowledge and research training needed before moving into master's or doctoral-level psychology study. Coursework covers developmental psychology, counselling, psychological assessment and intervention, and the ethical and professional issues psychologists face in practice, with content pitched deliberately above undergraduate level. Accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council at Level 2, it functions as a bridging qualification for psychology graduates whose original degree didn't include an honours year, letting them catch up to the point where they can compete for entry into accredited postgraduate psychology programs such as the Master of Professional Psychology or Master of Clinical Psychology.
