About this program
Monash's Master of Behaviour and Systemic Change is an eighteen-month, deliberately interdisciplinary course that applies behavioural psychology, economics, social and political science and sustainability studies to major global challenges rather than treating behaviour change as a narrow clinical or marketing topic. All students complete core studies on behavioural and systemic change theory before choosing a further stream in climate change, geopolitics and security, or health and communities, pulling in postgraduate units from across Monash's faculties to build genuinely multidisciplinary knowledge in that area. Project units apply behavioural and systemic thinking to real-world examples within the chosen stream, deliberately bridging the gap between theory and practice, and a research thesis option exists for students who want to go deeper into one problem. It suits graduates aiming for strategic, impact-oriented roles in government, business or the not-for-profit sector who need to understand how to shift behaviour and systems at scale, rather than at the level of an individual client or campaign.

- The course comprises 72 points structured into two parts: Part A. Core studies (48 points) and Part B. Discipline studies (24 points). Units are 6 points unless otherwise stated. Part A.
