Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology
Murdoch University, Perth, WA, Australia
About this program
An intensive professional research doctorate in clinical psychology, about 3.5 years full-time, combining coursework, at least three supervised clinical placements through Murdoch's on-campus psychology clinic and external providers, and a major research project that makes an original contribution to knowledge in the context of practice. It is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council as a packaged Level 3 to Level 4 course, so graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with clinical endorsement. Entry is by transfer from the Master of Applied Psychology (Clinical Psychology) or direct entry with equivalent qualifications and current registration. It goes further than the clinical master's by adding a substantial doctoral research thesis. It suits people who want to practise as clinical psychologists and lead research.
