Master of Creative Arts Therapies
Murdoch University, Perth, WA, Australia
About this program
A two-year, 48 credit point degree in creative arts psychotherapy, which Murdoch says is the only master's in creative arts therapies in Western Australia. The first year is the Graduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapies, and study is highly experiential, taught in purpose-built creative arts therapies spaces through workshops, supervised clinical practice and clinical supervision. Students learn to critically appraise arts psychotherapy literature and to practise across clinical and non-clinical settings. Entry requires the Murdoch graduate diploma or a comparable program assessed as equivalent, plus a creative practice portfolio and an interview for shortlisted applicants. Graduates can apply for professional membership with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association and for Level 2 membership with the Australian Counselling Association. It suits people committed to practising as creative arts therapists.
