Master of Professional Psychology
Murdoch University, Perth, WA, Australia
About this program
A postgraduate psychology degree that provides the coursework and supervised practice for the fifth year of the psychology training sequence, after an accredited three-year degree and honours. It is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council as a packaged Level 2 and 3 program, and it includes two placements in the final stage.
Graduates are then eligible to apply for general registration as a psychologist after one further year of supervised practice, the 5+1 internship pathway. Admission is competitive: an accredited psychology sequence with a distinction average in psychology units is the guideline, plus referee reports, a statement and often an interview. It suits people whose goal is general registration as a psychologist by the most direct route.
