About this program
The Diploma of Conservation and Ecosystem Management at RMIT University introduces the skills used by land managers, park rangers, site assessors, water quality assessors and conservation staff. Students learn to survey animals and plants, monitor waterways, assess and restore natural sites, and undertake cultural studies relating to land management, with field trips around Melbourne and overnight excursions to locations such as Heywood and Barmah Forest. Students learn about cultural heritage and Indigenous land management with direct input from Aboriginal Elders and community organisations, and the course is developed with industry stakeholders including Melbourne Water and Parks Victoria.
