About this program

A four-year degree that qualifies graduates to teach in secondary schools, in state and independent systems. Students prepare in two teaching areas within a chosen specialisation: Arts (from disciplines such as English, history, geography, business, legal studies, media and the creative arts), Science (two science disciplines), or Health and Physical Education paired with a second subject. Placement totals a minimum of 80 days across different secondary settings, ending with a 30-day placement in the final year. Applicants complete a written statement assessing suitability for teaching, and Working with Vulnerable People registration and the national LANTITE test apply before final placement. Graduates are eligible to apply for teacher registration. It suits students who know the subjects they want to teach and are committed to secondary teaching from the start of their degree.
