About this program
The Master of Architecture is the University of Melbourne's professional degree for becoming a registered architect. Teaching is studio-based and modelled on real design practice, covering contemporary design, architectural history and theory, sustainable practice, new materials and advanced building technology. Students also build the skills to manage a practice and lead cross-disciplinary project teams, supported by industry connections and real-world projects. It runs on campus at Parkville with February and July intakes. Students who completed an architecture major in their undergraduate degree take the 200-point, two-year program; those from a non-architecture background take the 300-point, three-year program. The degree is accredited for the path to registration with the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia. Graduates work as architects, urban and design consultants, and in project and practice management.
