About this program
The Master of Urban Design at the University of Melbourne develops professionals who understand the city as a complex spatial and temporal system, designing for mass urbanisation and changing climate demands across streetscapes, landscapes and municipal services. Teaching centres on studios approached as speculative design-research explorations combining geospatial analytics, multidimensional modelling and virtual reality technology, alongside history and theory subjects.
The course is recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia. Urban design skills are in strong demand throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

Admissions
To be considered for entry into this course, you must: Have completed a bachelor degree (AQF7) in a cognate (relevant) discipline with a weighted average mark (WAM) of 65%, or equivalent. Cognate (relevant) disciplines include: Urban design, landscape architecture, or architecture. This course also has selection tasks you must complete, see below in 'About selection'.
