About this program
The Master of Counselling is designed for people from a variety of professional backgrounds, including social work, human resources, social welfare, nursing, psychology and education, who want to work as counsellors. The degree combines coursework, research and hands-on practical experience across a minimum of 200 hours of industry placement. It holds provisional accreditation from both the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) for delivery in Fremantle and Sydney.

Admissions
Applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree or equivalent, and must demonstrate a suitable degree of mature life experience, including self-awareness, a capacity to relate to others, and an understanding of ethical behaviour. Admission requires a selection interview with a member of the Counselling staff, at which the applicant must demonstrate the mature life experience defined by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
