Bachelor of Education (Primary)
University of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD, Australia
About this program
The Bachelor of Education (Primary) is a four-year degree at the St Lucia campus that prepares students to teach across the full range of primary school learning areas, from English and mathematics to science, the arts and humanities. Supervised school placements begin in the first year, alongside study of child development, teaching practice, Indigenous education and the Australian Curriculum, building to a final placement where the student takes substantial responsibility for a class. Students develop skills in literacy, numeracy, inclusive teaching, digital technologies and classroom leadership, and choose one of four curriculum-focused minors. The degree leads to registration as a primary school teacher, with pathways into education leadership.
