1 term of coursework
- This 32-unit program (2-year full pathway, or a 1.5-year pathway with 8 units of recognised prior learning) combines foundation courses such as Applied Demography, Urban Innovations, Urban Law and Regulation, and Transport Planning with core courses including Planning Systems and Governance, Planning for Social Change, Urban Infrastructure Transitions, Data Science and Technology for Planners, Urban Policy Impact Lab, and Urban Design: Urban Futures. Students then choose a Field of Study such as Environment and Sustainability, Research in Urbanism, or Urban Analytics, plus program or general electives
Admissions
This program has two entry pathways. For the 2-year, 32-unit degree you need a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, except qualifications accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia, with a GPA of 4.5 on a 7-point scale. For the accelerated 1.5-year, 24-unit degree (using recognised prior learning) you need a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as urban or regional planning, architecture, urban design, environment, design, engineering or geography, or a bachelor's degree in a non-relevant discipline plus 2 years full-time equivalent relevant work experience in urban and regional planning, again with a GPA of 4.5.
