About this program
The Bachelor of Education (Primary) is a four-year professional qualification to teach children aged five to 12 in primary schools. School-based experience begins in the first semester, starting with small-group work and building to a final-year professional experience placement where students teach with minimal supervision. The degree covers curriculum areas, pedagogy, educational psychology and inclusive practice, and is delivered face to face at the Camperdown/Darlington campus over 192 credit points. It is accredited by the NSW Education Standards Authority, and graduates are eligible for teacher accreditation in Australia on completion of the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education. Graduates work as primary school teachers, curriculum consultants, education administrators, researchers and government policy advisers.
