About this program
The University of Western Australia Bachelor of Economics is a concentrated three-year program for students who want to become professional economists. Students major in Economics or Financial Economics, both grounded in micro and macroeconomics and econometrics. The course requires an ATAR of 90 and Mathematics Applications as a prerequisite, with Mathematics Methods recommended; a bridging course is available for students who have not done the prerequisite maths, and alternative entry pathways exist for those who do not meet the standard requirements. Graduates work as specialist economists in government and business, and as economic consultants, analysts and policy advisers, with UWA reporting graduates employed at the Australian and State Treasuries and the Reserve Bank as well as in consultancies and major companies. Students can continue to honours, a specialist Master of Economics, or a PhD. International tuition is about A$54,500 per year.
