About this program
The Master of Landscape Architecture at the University of Western Australia provides an education in the design, management and resilience of natural and built landscapes for the benefit of communities and to improve the quality of the environment. Students gain the knowledge and skills to respond to complex issues such as climate change and biodiversity loss by applying systems thinking and creative practice to develop long-term, multi-scale solutions. - This is a coursework masters accredited by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, requiring 144 points overall (96 points of taught units plus up to 48 points of admission or conversion credit), with a standard 2 year full time duration extending to a maximum of 3 years. All students complete 66 points of core units, including Research Strategies in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and Architecture

Admissions
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification recognised by UWA, with the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 60 per cent. Applicants who have not completed a bachelor's degree with a major in Landscape Architecture, or equivalent, must complete conversion units of up to 48 points as part of the course. After graduating, students must also complete two years of full time (or part time equivalent) supervised work experience as a Landscape Architect before applying for Registration via the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects' Mentorship Pathway.
