Bachelor of Environmental Science

University of Wollongong, Wollongong, NSW, Australia

About this program

Sits within the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health and makes practical use of Wollongong's geography: the Illawarra escarpment, coastal wetlands, and nearby national parks are used as actual field sites rather than being theoretical case studies. Fieldwork is a genuine differentiator here; students spend blocks of time out of the classroom on ecological surveys, water quality monitoring, and soil sampling from early in the degree.

Graduates go into environmental consulting and local or state government environmental roles. The degree includes a professional practice subject aimed specifically at that job market, and there's crossover with the university's earth and environmental sciences research groups for students wanting an honours pathway.
