About this program
UNSW's honours year within the Bachelor of Computational Design lets students who've performed well at undergraduate level deepen their knowledge of design methods, literature and history through a significant independent research project, connecting undergraduate study to supervised research. The honours program consolidates and extends work from the standard undergraduate degree, providing an academic foundation for students planning to continue into a professional master's, a research master's or a PhD. Alongside the independent research project and coursework, students complete research literacy and integrity training, OH&S and safety training in the faculty's Squarehouse studios, and present at faculty research seminars. It suits high-achieving computational design students who want genuine research experience and an academic credential beyond the standard degree before moving into further postgraduate study or specialised computational design practice.
