Bachelor of Industrial Design (Honours)

UNSW Sydney, Sydney, NSW, Australia

About this program

UNSW's honours year within the Bachelor of Industrial Design lets students who've performed well at undergraduate level in industrial design or an aligned area undertake a substantial individual research and design exploration project, equivalent to a full honours thesis. Building on the disciplinary foundation from the standard bachelor's degree, the honours year develops academic excellence, social engagement and global perspective to prepare graduates for transition into professional practice, while also connecting undergraduate study to supervised independent research for those considering a research master's or PhD afterward. It suits high-achieving industrial design students who want a genuine research credential and deeper design exploration before entering professional practice, as well as those keeping the door open to further postgraduate research study in design.
