Bachelor of Interior Architecture (Honours)

UNSW Sydney, Sydney, NSW, Australia

About this program

UNSW's Bachelor of Interior Architecture (Honours) treats interior architecture as research-led creative practice, focused on the design and agency of inhabited interiors across scales from a single room to an entire city, and across permanent to temporary spaces. The program treats the interior as a dynamic, open-ended conceptual space through which the human experience of private and public urban environments can be interrogated and reimagined, grounded in material and spatial assembly informed by environmental, cultural and historic context. Students develop an agile, critical approach to design inquiry balanced with genuine creative risk-taking, aiming to produce graduates capable of ethical, collaborative, multi-disciplinary practice as global demands reshape future interior spaces. It suits design students drawn to interiors as a genuinely intellectual and research-grounded discipline, rather than a purely decorative or styling-focused approach to interior design.
