About this program
UNSW's Diploma in Architecture is a 12-month pathway into second year of Architectural Studies, Interior Architecture (Honours), or Landscape Architecture (Honours), the latter only via Term 1 intake, letting students complete eight courses, seven first-year equivalents plus one general education elective, that count directly toward the destination degree. Delivery runs at a slower pace than standard first-year study, with longer 12-week terms and greater contact hours giving students more opportunities for consultation, practice and revision as they adjust to university-level design studio learning. It suits students who want to study architecture, interior architecture or landscape architecture at UNSW but need a supported, slower-paced entry point before committing to full first-year design studio coursework, with successful completion leading directly into second year of the chosen destination degree.
