Graduate Diploma in City Planning

UNSW Sydney, Sydney, NSW, Australia

About this program

UNSW's Graduate Diploma in City Planning builds on the shorter Graduate Certificate with deeper training for graduates from a related discipline, or professionals whose work intersects with planning systems, moving into a planning career. Using Sydney and New South Wales as a working laboratory placed in global context through critical analysis and international best practice, the program develops the analytical, thinking and communication skills planners need across a genuinely wide stakeholder spectrum. Students can articulate directly into the Master of City Planning if they decide to continue, making the diploma a substantial middle option between the shorter certificate and the full master's degree. It suits professionals who found the certificate too brief but aren't ready to commit to the full master's, giving them more depth while keeping the progression pathway open.
