About this program
A four-year program that is both an entry-to-practice qualification and a research doctorate. The first two years are an accelerated Master of Occupational Therapy, an entry-level clinical degree, and the final two years add a doctoral research component and a capstone internship. It includes more than 1,600 hours of practice-based education. Graduates of the master's component are eligible to apply for registration as an occupational therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, so a graduate from another field can use this pathway to enter the profession. The program is also accredited in the United States by ACOTE, supporting eligibility for NBCOT certification and practice in the US and Canada. Graduates work as clinician-researchers and move into leadership roles. It suits people who want to qualify as an occupational therapist and complete a doctorate in one continuous program.
