Professional Doctorate of Physiotherapy
Bond University, Gold Coast, QLD, Australia
About this program
A post-professional doctorate, not an entry-to-practice degree. It builds on Bond's two-year Doctor of Physiotherapy, which is the qualification that leads to registration as a physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia. The professional doctorate adds a further two years of advanced research coursework, a doctoral thesis and an industry-based capstone internship, for four years in total, with up to one year of credit for prior learning. It develops advanced clinical research capability, leadership and specialised expertise for clinician-researchers. Graduates work across clinical practice, research, education, management and industry. It suits registered physiotherapists, or students continuing directly from the Doctor of Physiotherapy, who want a research doctorate anchored in professional practice.
