About this program
The Master of Data Science and Innovation at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is taught by the TD School, which takes a transdisciplinary approach: students from different industries and academic backgrounds learn together. Study takes about 18 months full-time at the City campus, mixing online and in-person sessions. The first year includes Data Science for Innovation, Statistical Thinking for Data Science and Machine Learning Algorithms and Applications, alongside electives.
The curriculum is co-designed with industry partners and reviewed regularly. Students work on real data sets throughout, including iLab projects where they tackle data problems brought in by partner organisations. UTS lists career outcomes such as data scientist, machine learning engineer, data visualiser, big data engineer and data and insights manager. English requirements are IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 6.0 in writing.
